I am based in Bridport, Dorset, where I have lived and worked for many years. My interests range from local housing policy and public services to writing, invention, and the occasional attempt to cut through institutional nonsense.

I manage residential and commercial property through CMM Brokers Limited, write social commentary at stpd.net and snsbl.org, and am developing a novel toilet system designed to save significant volumes of water through Toilet Patents Ltd.

I try to benefit from my ADHD. Sometimes I use the help of Claude (Anthropic), which may create a different tone.

Community & Public Roles

Daniel Taylor Almshouse Trust: I served as a trustee of this Bridport housing charity from 2007 to 2023, a period of sixteen years. I was a trustee — not the chairman — and resigned from the role in 2023. During that time the charity was converted to a CIO, its balance sheet grew from £100,000 to £363,000, and planning permission was secured for eight new homes at Chancery Lane for the poor of Bridport under an S106 agreement.

I have engaged regularly with Bridport Town Council on planning and development matters, and have pursued public interest campaigns including a challenge to Dorset Libraries' public WiFi arrangements, covered in the Bridport and Lyme Regis News.
